During the first half of 2014, the Volkswagen Group increased its market share to a full quarter of the new car market of the European Union and EFTA Countries. The Volkswagen brand lost some market share but still one in eight new car buyers in Europe will go for a VW. However, only around a hundred will be able to buy a Volkswagen XL1.
