The Ford Explorer, a new model based on the Volkswagen ID4 platform, was fifth despite only being on sale for part of the year.

The Volvo EX30 slipped one position despite stronger sales.
Although four of the top ten electric cars were from the Volkswagen Group, and the Ford Explorer being on a Volkswagen platform, no VW-branded model made it into the top ten most popular car models in the UK in 2025.
In 2025, the new car market in Britain increased 3.5% to 2,020,520 newly registered passenger vehicles. Volkswagen was the top-selling brand in the UK for the fifth consecutive year.
