Best-Selling Vehicle Models in the United States in 2026 (First Half)

U.S. new vehicle sales in the first half of 2026 remained firmly dominated by pickup trucks, with the Ford F-Series comfortably retaining its long-standing position as America’s best-selling vehicle. Production and supply problems for the F-Series persisted after a fire at a component supply factory in 2025. The Chevrolet Silverado held second place despite a slight decline from a year earlier, while the Honda CR-V strengthened its position as America’s best-selling SUV and highest-ranked non-truck model.

Among the other leading pickups, the Ram Pickup was one of the strongest performers of the year, recording double-digit growth to consolidate fourth place. The GMC Sierra also edged higher, reflecting another solid performance for General Motors’ full-size truck lineup.

America’s Favorite Passenger Cars in 2026 (Q1 + Q2)

Passenger cars continued their recovery during the first six months of 2026. The Toyota Camry remained America’s favorite sedan and climbed comfortably into the overall top five with another strong year-on-year gain.

The Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic also posted healthy increases, while the Camry, Corolla, and Civic all outperformed the broader market. The results suggest sustained consumer demand for traditional sedans following several years in which SUVs dominated virtually every segment.

America’s Favorite SUVs in 2026 (January to June)

The Honda CR-V was America’s clear SUV leader in the first half of 2026, extending its advantage over rivals with solid growth. The Nissan Rogue was another standout performer, recording one of the strongest percentage gains among the top-selling models to move further up the rankings.

The biggest surprise of the year remained the Toyota RAV4. Although still one of America’s best-selling vehicles, deliveries were sharply lower than a year earlier, leaving the model well below its traditional position near the top of the rankings. The decline is widely attributed to the ongoing model changeover rather than weaker underlying demand.

→ GM was the top vehicle producer and Toyota the top-selling car brand in the USA in the first six months of 2026 (Q1 + Q2).
