BYD — Largest Electric Car Brand in the World in 2025

In 2025, BYD became the world´s clear leader in all-electric cars — both in terms of global battery-electric vehicle production and worldwide electric car sales.

While Tesla was still leading in sales in 2024, the very weak performance of Tesla in 2025 left the American competitor far behind in both global electric car production and sales. Analysts are not expecting Tesla to reach more than 2 million vehicles before 2027.
