2025 (Q1): The Volkswagen Golf, T-Roc, Tiguan, and Passat were the top-selling car models in Germany during the first quarter of 2025.
Volksagen continued to dominate the German new car market at the start of 2025 with the four best-selling car models VW models. Germany’s favorite car model remained the VW Golf, followed by the VW T-Roc, VW Tiguan, and VW Passat. The tenth most popular car model in Germany in the first quarter of 2025 was the VW ID7, which was the top-selling electric car model thus far in 2025.

Best-Selling Car Models in Germany in 2025 (Q1)
The Volkswagen Golf maintained its position as Germany’s best-selling car model at the start of 2025. It was followed by the VW T-Roc, Germany’s favorite SUV / Crossover and the VW Tiguan, the best-selling SUV Geländewagen. The VW Passat was the fourth most popular car model thus far in 2025.
The most popular foreign car models in Germany in the first quarter of 2025 were the Skoda Octavia and Seat Leon, although both brands are part of the Volkswagen Group. The best-selling foreign model without ownership or traditional manufacturing links to Germany was the Sacia Sandero at 20th.
The BMW X1 and Opel Corsa were the only top-ten models in Germany without links to VW. The VW Polo, which often outsold the Corsa in Germany, slipped to 27th. (The Tesla Model Y dropped to 67th.)
The tenth most popular car model in Germany during the first quarter of 2025 was the Volkswagen ID7, which was the best-selling electric car model thus far this year.
