In 2018, Volvo sales in the USA increased by a fifth to 98,263 cars – the highest numbers in a decade. The XC60 was the top-selling Volvo model in the US.
In December 2018, Volvo Car USA, LLC, (VCUSA) reported U.S. sales of 8,826 vehicles – a decrease of 8.8% compared to December 2017. However, for the full year 2018, VCUSA sold 98,263 vehicles, an increase of 20.6 percent versus the previous year and the highest Volvo sales in the USA for a decade. Globally Volvo sold over 600,000 cars in 2018 for the first time ever in a year.

The XC60 was the top-selling Volvo in the USA followed by the XC90. As with other manufacturers, traditional passenger cars generally struggled to find buyers in the USA in 2018.
