In 2022, Tesla global sales, production, and worldwide deliveries of battery-electric vehicles increased to over a million passenger cars.
In the full calendar year 2022, Tesla increased worldwide production, sales, and deliveries of its electric cars to well over a million vehicles. Global production of Tesla cars increased by almost 50% while production of the more expensive Model S and X nearly tripled.

Tesla reported global production and deliveries of electric cars as follows for the full calendar year 2022:

The Model 3 and Y were by far the most popular Tesla range while the Model S and X combined were only around 5% of total global Tesla production. Tesla did not yet specify which particular model was the most popular worldwide in 2022.
As in previous years, Tesla had a strong fourth quarter with 439,701 cars produced worldwide with 405,278 deliveries globally. These numbers were slightly below analysts’ expectations with Tesla claiming that a continued transition towards a more even regional mix of vehicle builds and deliveries led to a further increase in cars in transit at the end of the quarter. Tesla will release financial results for 2022 on January 25, 2023.
