2024 (January to December): the Volkswagen Group, including VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat, Cupra, Porsche, and others, delivered just over 9 million cars worldwide — a decrease of 2.3% in global sales. Volkswagen Passenger Cars remained the largest brand in the group despite weaker sales, followed by Audi which saw worldwide sales contract by 12% in 2024. In contrast, Skoda and Seat / Cupra sales were stronger. Global sales of Volkswagen Group electric cars in 2024 were 3.4% down in 2024 to only 744,800 deliveries worldwide.

Sales by Major Region or Country

In 2024, the Volkswagen Group delivered 9.03 million vehicles worldwide, down 2.3 percent from the previous year (9.24 million vehicles). Growth in North America (+6 percent) and South America (+15 percent) was offset by consistent deliveries in Europe (-0.1 percent) and declines in China (-10 percent).

In Europe, deliveries remained at the previous year’s level at 3.77 million vehicles. Western Europe fell slightly by 0.4 percent, while Central and Eastern Europe grew by 1.7 percent. In the home market of Germany, the decline amounted to 2.2 percent.

In North America, the Volkswagen Group delivered 1.06 million vehicles, 6.4 percent more than in the previous year. In the main market, the USA, growth amounted to 2.0 percent.

At 14.7 percent, the region recorded the strongest growth to 594,300 vehicles. This positive development was driven by the core market of Brazil with growth of 18.2 percent.

Deliveries in the region fell by 10.3 percent to 3.22 million vehicles. This was triggered by the intense competitive situation in China, which led to a 9.5 percent decline in deliveries.
