In full-year 2022, Audi sales in the USA contracted by 5% with the Q5 and Q3 the top-selling SUV model and the A5 the best-selling passenger car.
2022 (January to December): Audi of America sold 5% fewer cars in the USA in 2022 compared to 2021 — a stronger performance than many other brands and well ahead of Volkswagen which saw sales plummet by a fifth. As with other carmakers, Audi struggled with production issues due to component shortages with sales in the final quarter of 2022 much better than earlier in the year. The outlook for 2023 is more positive especially if production could be ramped up to meet demand. Sales of battery-electric vehicles (BEV) improved by 47% but the actual numbers involved remained low. The top-selling Audi models in the USA were the Q5 and Q3 SUVs with the A5 and A4 being the most-popular Audi passenger cars.
