For the calendar year 2020, Toyota Motor North America vehicle sales were 11.3% lower at just over 2.1 million vehicles. Toyota brand sales were 12% down while Lexus sales were 8% lower. However, Toyota claimed to remain the largest retail brand in the US for the ninth consecutive year. In 2020, the Toyota Camry was the best-selling passenger car in the USA for the 19th consecutive year while the Toyota RAV4 was the best-selling SUV in the USA for the 4th consecutive year.

In 2020, Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) reported USA sales of 2,112,941 vehicles (Toyota brand and Lexus), a decrease of 11.3 percent compared to 2019. Toyota brand sales in the USA declined by 11.9% to 1,837,900 vehicles, while Lexus sales were down 7.7% to 275,041 vehicles.
