2023 (January to December): Volvo Car USA and Canada sold 141,566 cars for the full year 2023 – an increase of 26 percent compared to sales in 2022. Volvo’s recharge models — cars with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain — accounted for 28.3 percent of all Volvo cars sold in North America in 2023, an increase of 30.6 percent compared to 2022. Volvo sales in Canada were at the highest level in fifty years.

For the full year 2023, Volvo sales in the US reached 128,701 cars, up 26.1 percent compared with the previous year. This included a record year for sales through the retail channel in the US.

In the US, the XC90 midsize luxury SUV was the top-selling model, followed by the XC60 compact luxury SUV, and XC40 small luxury SUV. Worldwide, the XC60 is Volvo’s most popular model.

In 2023, Volvo Canada set a new annual sales record with sales of 12,865 cars during the year. The previous record was set in 1974 when 11,763 Volvo cars were sold in Canada.
